Real-world pillars provide foundation and structure, just as web pillar pages do

Pillar pages are comprehensive, long-form articles on a particular topic.

These pages cover just about everything your audience should know about a particular topic. Pillar pages are designed to be SEO powerhouses: they boost important keywords within a single post, they give strong content hierarchy for your site structure, and they provide plentiful interlinking opportunities.

At Cru, our team worked with the agency Overthink Group to produce pillar pages for our corporate website, cru.org. Between 2020 and early 2021, we published over 20 pillar pages and began seeing success almost immediately.

Nearly every page now ranks on page one of Google for their key search terms. Our site also saw a 15% decrease in site bounce rate from 2019 to 2020.
